Notes: After four straight experimental albums, including two concept albums, Green Day returned to their roots with a back to basics approach to their recording sessions. With their creativity bursting, the band would end up recording 37 songs that they felt strongly enough about that they released all of them over over three albums. While most would consider the trilogy a commercial failure, coming on the heals of 21st Century Breakdown & American Idiot, there are many classic Green Day songs spread across the albums.

Billie Joe described the albums as follows: "¡Uno! is kind of like a more raw, back-to-basics Green Day sound. ¡Dos! is more like the Foxboro Hot Tubs or something – it’s more garage-y and kind of wild and sexual. There are more songs about fucking and things like that; it gets pretty wild and there’s kind of a party atmosphere to it. And then, the third one [¡Tre!], there’s a bit more sweetness to it and a bit more reflection going on, but maintaining the energy that Green Day has going on.”

Recording Notes
The first songs Billie wrote for the trilogy were 'Stay The Night', 'Nuclear Family' and 'Carpe Diem'.
The demo for 'State Of Shock' was released on Demolicious.
'Dream Catcher' didn't make the cut for the trilogy but was used in the musical These Paper Bullets. The band performed the song in soundcheck in Manchester, England on June 15, 2010.
Clips of 'Ruby Mae' and 'Hotfoot Jamboree' can be heard in the trilogy making of documentary, ¡Cuatro!
'Loss Of Control' was originally titled 'Crushing Bastard', 'Angel Blue' was 'Teenage Blue' and 'Rusty James' was originally called 'Sodapop Curtis'. A photo from the sessions also revealed two more working titles: 'Jezebel', most likely an early name for 'Troublemaker', and 'Don't Look Away', probably for 'The Forgotten'.
