We already knew, thanks to AMC leaking the date a couple weeks ago, but it has now been officially confirmed that Nimrods will hit theatres on August 14th. A new poster for the film was also released which you can check out below.
CEO Kevin Weisberg of Inaugural Entertainment, who are distributing this film, had this to say about the movie:
"Nimrods is the kind of film that audiences are going to want to experience together in a theater. It captures the humor, chaos and rebellious spirit that made Green Day such a cultural force, while telling a genuinely entertaining coming-of-age story. We’re thrilled to partner with Legion M and Live Nation Studios to help bring this film to fans nationwide on August 14.”
The Coverups closed out Notes & Words at Fox Theater last evening with a performance for the afterparty. Check out the full setlist and show stats below.
We may finally have a release date for the movie formally known as New Years Rev! r/GreenDay user Qponchick spotted an AMC Theatres listing for the movie, now called "Nimrods", with the release day of August 14, 2026.
We'll have to wait for official confirmation but until then you can check out the trailer on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgxC84cZR4A
Idiot Nation is coming to SiriusXM as a full time channel on April 20th!
“We’re absolutely stoked to have our very own channel on SiriusXM to share all the songs we love. The ones that made us pick up guitars, pile into vans, and chase something loud and real,” Green Day shared. “We’re digging into everything, including bands we love, old Green Day demos, live tracks, deep cuts, and telling the stories behind it all. Come hang with us and let it rip!”
The Green Day inspired film formally known as New Years Rev is now officially renamed Nimrods and has been picked up by Inaugural Entertainment. No word yet on a release date.
