Green Day comedy ‘Nimrods’ sets August 14 release
The punk rock comedy starring Mason Thames and Mckenna Grace will hit movie theaters this summer.
We already knew, thanks to AMC leaking the date a couple weeks ago, but it is now official: Nimrods is set to arrive in theaters on August 14th. Accompanying the date confirmation is a brand-new promotional poster.
Kevin Weisberg, CEO of the film’s distributor, Inaugural Entertainment, shared his enthusiasm for the project:
“Nimrods is a communal theatrical experience. It balances a relatable coming-of-age narrative with the chaotic, rebellious energy synonymous with Green Day. Alongside Legion M and Live Nation Studios, we are excited to debut this film to a national audience this August.”

They should have made an actual biography. I'm a huge Green Day fan but "inspired by some things that happened to the band" happening to some other fictional band just isn't exciting at all unfortunately

You know what, as a big Green Day fan dating back to the mid 90’s, I have to say that I’m disappointed in them for partnering for LiveNation for this movie. LiveNation is killing the live music industry, and Green Day are one of the few rock bands that can actually profit within that system. nnLiveNation needs to be dismantled. Green Day should not be helping them make even more money.
