Along with a nomination for Alternative Artist of the Year (won by Fall Out Boy) and a performance at last nights iHeart Music Awards, Green Day were also honoured with a Landmark Award at the event. The award, presented by Avril Lavigne, is described by iHeart as recognition of “artists’ album releases that have inspired and shaped culture over multiple decades”.

As for the band’s performance, they kicked things off with ‘Bobby Sox’ from Saviors which cleverly segued into a special performance of ‘Basket Case’ where Billie sang the second verse lyrics from the original 4-track demo of the song which was released on the Dookie 30th box set.
Green Day will take the stage again tonight at The Fillmore in San Francisco to raise money for climate change initiatives. The band will once again be playing Saviors in full along with the entire American Idiot album. We’ll have all the details about that tomorrow.
Yesterday also saw the band release another making of video for a Saviors track. This time ‘Living In The ’20s’ was given the behind the scenes look after previous videos highlighted ‘Dilemma’, ‘Coma City’, ‘Bobby Sox’ and ‘1981’. Check out the latest instalment below and we’ve archived the previous videos on the Saviors page if you missed any of those.
