Green Day play Saviors in full at the HoB

Fans lucky enough to score tickets to Green Day’s surprise show at the House of Blues in Anaheim last evening were in for a treat with the band performing Saviors in its entirety for the very first time. Nine songs from the album had never previously been played live.

After finishing with the album play-through, deep cuts like ‘She’s A Rebel’ (first time in 336 shows), ‘Extraordinary Girl’ (310 shows) and ‘Give Me Novacaine’ (155 shows) were played along with a selection of tracks from Dookie and American Idiot along with ‘Minority’ from Warning.

Missing in action for the night was Jason Freese on keyboards with his spot being filled by Coley O’Toole from We The Kings. After the show, the band announced on Instagram that Freese is “taking time off to deal with a health issue and will be back this summer”. We wish him the best and hope for a speedy recovery.
