Screeching Weasel has had a long and tumultuous career that has seen many break-ups and lineup changes since they first formed in 1986. One such lineup change involved bassist Dan Vapid exiting the band in 1993 to be replaced by their former Lookout! Records label mate Mike Dirnt for the recording of How To Make Enemies And Irritate People. 

Screeching Weasel would once again break up after the release of that album with Ben Weasel, Dan Vapid and Dan Panic starting a new band called The Riverdales who would be the support act on Green Day’s 1995 Insomniac tour before they once again re-formed as Screeching Weasel in 1996.
