Courtney Love joins The Coverups in London

The Coverups are joined by Courtney Love in the UK

The Coverups have taken their show on the road for the first time outside of California for two concerts in England, beginning with todays show at The Garage – a venue Green Day played twice back in 1994 before Dookie blew up.

Billie Joe has been spending a great deal of time in England the past couple years (Green Day even recorded most of Saviors there) and he’s not the only rock star to fall in love with the UK. Former Hole front-women Courtney Love has lived in London for the last several years and given her friendship with Billie, it was no surprise to see her join The Coverups on stage for a few songs.

Love would join the band for their first ever performances of ‘He’s A Whore’ (Cheap Trick) and ‘Even The Losers’ (Tom Petty) midway through the set and then once again hopped on stage for the set closer ‘Surrender’ (Cheap Trick).

The last cover debuted at the show was the fittingly titled ‘I’m So Bored With The U.S.A.’ (The Clash). Check out the full setlist for the show here. The band will next take the stage on March 1st at the 100 Club for another sold out show in the city.
