Green Day’s second single from Father Of All Motherfuckers was released today along with a music video directed by Malia James. In the YouTube description of the video, the band said: “We’re throwing a party at the apocalypse and you and your 5 seconds of fame are invited.”
The band also noted that they will be donating their royalties for the song to charity as penance for sampling from Joan Jett’s ‘Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)’ which was originally written by sex offender Gary Glitter.
The band stated: “BTW we sampled a song from the great Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation album. One of the writers on that song is a total asshole so we’re donating our royalties from this song to IJM and RAINN.”
