‘Father Of All…’ release day news roundup

After five loooong months of waiting, Green Day’s 13th studio album Father Of All Motherfuckers was finally released worldwide today! It was a busy day of promotion for the album that was kicked off at midnight with the surprise release of a music video for ‘Meet Me On The Roof’ staring Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things.

Up next was a stop at The Ellen Show where Green Day performed their latest single, ‘Oh Yeah!’, live for the first time.

Some major music publications also published their reviews of Father Of All today with Alternative Press calling it “the best rock ’n’ roll dance party you’ve been to in a very long time”. The album also received praise from Rolling Stone who gave the album a 4/5 star rating which matched the rating they received from NME.

Speaking of NME, they also had a feature article on the band published today and among the interesting tidbits gleaned from it was that the American Idiot movie that fans have been waiting for has been, in the words of Billie Joe, “pretty much scrapped.”

Next up, Green Day will have a live record release party broadcast by iHeartRadio tonight which will feature the band performing and answering audience questions about the new album. You can watch the live stream over on YouTube at 10 pm ET / 7 pm PT.

Check back tomorrow for an update to our Father Of All Motherfuckers page where you’ll be able to add your ratings for the new album and then see how it stacks up in our fan-voted album and song charts.
