The Foxboro Hot Tubs consist of the members of Green Day along with their touring musicians Jason White, Jason Freese and Kevin Preston. The name of the band comes from the Foxboro Village housing development in Hercules, CA where the band in their younger days would “sneak booze and chicks into late at night” according to Billie Joe.
The band came to the attention of fans in December of 2007 when three tracks were released on Green Day’s Idiot Club website. In the following days, 6 songs would be released on a digital EP that would later appear on the band’s 2008 album Stop Drop And Roll!!! (aside from one track, ‘Highway 1’, that didn’t make the final tracklist).
The band’s debut album, released on April 22, 2008, was promoted with the lead single ‘Mother Mary’ which would peak at #16 on the Modern Rock Charts propelling Stop Drop And Roll!!! to #21 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
