1-2-3-4 Go! Records announced today that The Coverups will be headlining the 40th Street Block Party in Oakland, CA. With the musical lineup for the event being curated by Broken Guitars, owned by Coverups members Billie Joe Armstrong and Bill Schneider, it wasn’t exactly a difficult gig for the band to book.
For those unaware, the Coverups only play cover songs as the name implies. Aside from Armstrong and Schneider, the band also includes Mike Dirnt, Jason White and Chris Dugan.
Also on the bill for the festival are Paper Dolls, Billie Gale and Destroy Boys. This is a free event and you can bet on it being especially busy this year with The Coverups in the lineup. The festival runs from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday, July 20th.
