The 25th-anniversary of ‘Dookie’ celebrations continue with Billie Joe revealing on Instagram a guitar effects pedal featuring the album’s artwork, the post is captioned “Anyone going to NAMM?”. Fans are hoping this signature release will allow them to mimic the ‘Dookie’ tone and Guitar World speculates it will do just that;
“No other information has been released yet, but the pedal, which sports Output, Gain, Blend and Tone knobs, as well as a Scoop button, is believed to be an overdrive pedal based on Armstrong’s Dookie tone, which powered hits like “Longview,” “Basket Case” and “When I Come Around,” and was derived from a modded Marshall Plexi 1959SLP reissue that Armstrong nicknamed Pete.”
NAMM is described as “the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products, pro audio and event tech industry”. This year’s trade show takes place from January 24th to the 27th in Anaheim, California. We’ll provide more details as they become available.
