Green Day top UK sales chart with Saviors

Saviors debuts at #1 on UK chart

Green Day have scored their fifth #1 album in the UK with first week sales of Saviors hitting 31,361. Previously, the band had topped the UK chart with American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown, Revolution Radio and Father Of All Motherfuckers.

In comparison to Green Day’s last album, Father Of All Motherfuckers, Saviors sold 34% more units in its debut week with the former previously topping the charts with 23,000 first week sales.

A grateful Billie Joe shared a message to the UK fans on OfficialCharts.com:

We’ll have more information on US sales in the coming days, but the normally reliable HITS Daily Double is predicting sales of Saviors at around 51,000 which would be good for a top 5 position on the Billboard 200. We’ll update when confirmed figures are out but keep an eye on our album sales page for the latest figures along with the chart history page to see how the album and singles are performing.
