Green Day tease Irving Plaza show

A video post on Green Day’s official Instagram account seems to be teasing a show in New York City at Irving Plaza on January 18, 2024 – the day prior to the release of the band’s new album, Saviors. The 11 second video features a ticket stub from their first performance at the venue on March 17, 1994, and ends with the popular “I Love NY” slogan swapping to “I Love GD” followed by “1.18.2024”.

Aside from their first appearance at the venue, the band also performed American Idiot in full there in 2004 – the day after that album’s release, and in their last appearance in 2012 they performed a 37 song set that included 8 songs from the Uno/Dos/Tre album trilogy prior to its release.

With just 24 days until the release of Saviors, we should start to see more appearances being announced to promote the album over the next couple of weeks. First up though, Green Day will appear on Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve on ABC in a pre-taped performance featuring songs from Dookie and American Idiot along with the latest Saviors single, ‘Dilemma’.

We’ll keep you posted when ticket information for the Irving Plaza show is announced with an update to this story or you can follow us on Threads for any updates.
