A few new video interviews have been released this week from Green Day’s press tour for Saviors, which will be linked below, but the big news today is the release of the Alternative Press cover story interview with the band.
I won’t spoil it for you because it’s worth the read, but there are some new details revealed about the process of creating Saviors and the band were finally asked what “1972” was with Mike replying, “Sometimes there’s an idea that we floated, and it fell into something else”. Ok, so we don’t know much more than we knew before in that regard but at least it was finally addressed.
The photographer, Jonathan Weiner, took several great shots for the article including one with the band sitting below a spray-painted “1972” on the wall, throwing back to those early song teasers.
Check out the new interview on the Alternative Press website and if you’d like a physical copy of the magazine you can pre-order it in their store.
As mentioned above, the band has continued making the rounds promoting the new album and we have new interviews from Australia and Germany below. If you missed it earlier, the band also did several interviews in Toronto when they were in Canada to play the Grey Cup Halftime Show.
