Green Day play Kimmel + new tour date announced

Green Day appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday for their first televised performance of the lead single and title track of their upcoming album, Father Of All Motherfuckers. The appearance came two days after the announcement of the Green Day headlined Hella Mega Tour which will feature support from Weezer and Fall Out Boy.

Weezer (Tuesday) and Fall Out Boy (Wednesday) also performed newly released singles on Kimmel’s show in the days prior to Green Day to promote the tour. You can watch Green Day’s performance below.

Green Day also announced that they have joined the iHeartRadio Music Festival lineup. The festival features other rock acts like Cage The Elephant and Mumford & Sons along with many other pop, rap and country stars on its eclectic lineup. According to Billboard fans will be able to watch or listen to the festival live if you can’t make it to the show.

For fans at home, both nights of the show will broadcast live via nationwide iHeartMedia radio stations.The CW will also live-stream the event on the CW app and CWTV.com. The network will air a two-night television special on Oct. 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

This years edition of the festival takes place on September 20th & 21st and will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest
