Green Day post 6th video teaser for 1972

Billie Joe posts and quickly deletes new studio clip

After Green Day left the stage from their March 19th headlining performance at Innings Festival in Florida, their social media posts indicated that they have headed back to the studio in London, England.

The band had previously recorded at RAK Studios in October of 2021 for what was thought to be a 6 song EP called 1972. Returning to the studio months later for more recording sessions appears to hint that the expected EP may be blossoming into a full album.

Earlier this morning, Billie Joe posted new studio clips from 1972 to his Instagram story before quickly deleting them. Thankfully u/alpha708 on r/GreenDay was quick enough to get a recording before it was taken down.

One of the more surprising details to come out of late is that longtime producer Rob Cavallo is possibly involved. Father Of All producer Butch Walker was expected to be at the helm of the new project but the voice in the video above and previous studio pictures on social media seem to show Cavallo is back with the band for the first time since the Uno/Dos/Tre trilogy.

We’ll keep digging for details on the new release and post updates as they happen but if you’re a little behind check out the Album 14 page for all previous news on 1972.
