Punk club 924 Gilman has announced plans for a 25th-anniversary tribute concert and LP for Green Day’s iconic Dookie album. Ironically, the release of that same album is the reason the band was famously banned from the club for being on a major label which inspired the Insomniac track, ’86’.
Green Day and 924 Gilman have long since buried the hatchet, the band performed there most recently for a benefit in 2015 and even shot the music video for ‘Revolution Radio‘ at the venue.
The concert will take place on February 2, 2019, with 15 bands slated to tackle a song each from the album’s tracklist during their 10-minute sets.
Tickets for the all-ages show will only be available at the door, priced at $10 plus a $2 club membership fee. All proceeds from the show and compilation LP will go directly back to 924 Gilman to help with operation costs for the not-for-profit club.
Bands scheduled to perform: HotBods, Grumpster, Little Debbie and the Crusaders, Unpopular Opinion, Neverlyn, Sarchasm, Like Roses, Pity Party, Danger Inc., Gnarboots, Get Married, Deseos Primitivos, Corrupted Morals, Rex Means King, and Weeny Witch.
