As many of you probably know, Billie Joe and his wife Adrienne helped establish the privately funded chimpanzee sanctuary Project Chimps in 2014. The goal of the sanctuary is to provide lifelong care to 200 chimpanzees on over 230 acres of forested land in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia.
To help raise money for Project Chimps, they are having a “Take a chance for a Chimp” raffle with several high-end prizes including an Epiphone Les Paul Jr Guitar signed by Billie Joe Armstrong valued at $4,000.
Only 1,000 tickets will be available for the raffle with each entry costing $50. The draw will be held on July 14, 2023, to help celebrate World Chimpanzee Day. In order to enter, you’ll need to be 18 years of age and a legal resident of Georgia, North Caroline or Florida. You can head over to the Project Chimps website to purchase a ticket or view the other available prizes.
If you’re not in one of the eligible states (and don’t have a friend or relative living in one of them that can enter on your behalf), you can always just send in a donation. Project Chimps is a non-profit that relies exclusively on donations to fund its sanctuary.
