Marshall Unveils the Billie Joe Armstrong 1959BJA Signature Amp
Their first artist signature amp in 14 years recreates Billie's classic Green Day sound.
After months of speculation following Green Day’s 2026 Super Bowl performance, where a mysterious baby blue amplifier head was first spotted sitting on stage behind Billie Joe, Marshall has officially dropped the details on their first artist signature amp in 14 years.
The Marshall 1959BJA Billie Joe Armstrong Artist Signature is a handwired 100W powerhouse built to replicate the iconic sound heard on Dookie. Based on Marshall's classic 1959HW Plexi platform, the amp features a built in 'Dookie Mod'. The head pays homage to Billie's famous guitar "Blue" with its finish and features his signature on the front and back panels.
The 1959BJA will carry a retail price of $3,999.99 US which leaves it well out of reach for most fans unfortunately unless you have some serious cash to burn.
In a press release, Billie said of the amp: "I’m so overjoyed to have my own signature Marshall amp. These amps have been a part of my musical life, from my heroes down to little old me. Turn it the fuck up!!”
To celebrate the news, Marshall is throwing a launch party on July 20th at The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles featuring Billie's side project, The Coverups. As a courtesy to their soon to be broke customers, Marshall made the show free so you'll only have to save up another $3,999.99 (+tax) for the amp.
