Courtney: "We got there at about 5:00pm and there were already about 100 people there waiting in line. The merchandise stand was outside by the line. I spent over $100 on Green Day stuff. The doors opened at about 6:30pm and we went right to the front of the stage all the way on the left. Saves The Day was at the show I was at, and they came on at like 7:30 PM. I didn't like them too much, the lead singer's voice sounded whiny. They played for about 45 minutes. After another half hour of waiting, Green Day finally came on to the sound of sirens and red lights. I thought people were booing, but then I figured out it was just the sound of the sirens. The first song they played was Maria. I don't remember exactly which song was next, but at one point Billie yelled out, 'How many old school Green Day fans do we have here?' I was just like, 'YEAH!' There were so many preppy kids there, though. That's when they went into Knowledge. He picked some fans out of the crowd. The drummer did good. They had a choice between two bass players, so Billie had Mike think of a number and each of the kids had to guess. The first kid got on stage, but Billie said that he sucked, so he brought up the second kid. Then he went to pick the person who would play his guitar. He picked a kid with a NOFX shirt on and he was like, 'I don't even like NOFX.' He let him up anyway. The kid had to tap Billie's shoulder to get his attention, and then he went to give Billie a hug. After the hug Billie just grabbed his face and kissed him on the mouth (lucky bastard). After they were done playing, Billie said to the kid that he played the guitar better than him and that he could keep it. That's really nice of him to do that. When Hitchin' A Ride came on, Billie was masturbating. He cried, 'I think I'm gonna cum! Somebody FUCK me!' I lost it, I was like, 'YEAH!' and started jumping and shit. Those were the highlights of Green Day's show. It was cool when he was drenching everyone with a supersoaker and a water bottle. There was also lots of confetti, and they said Green Day 2002 on them. The last song was Time Of Your Life, and I had my lighter out before anyone else. After Green Day's show ended and I felt like I was drunk. I had 'Green Day Fucken Rocks' on my arms and 'Green Day' on my forehead written in a black marker. That was truly the best show I ever went to, and I went to a lot. Cheers to the best day of my life, in 2002 that is."
