"I stood over on the side waiting for Green Day to come on, then they came out and the crowd went insane. I was right off to the side taking tons of pictures when Mike Dirnt came over to the end of the stage and posed for me. Billie Joe brought some guy on stage to play his guitar and sing."
greenday.net: "I got a chance to ask Mike a question. I asked him if they were going to play Warning at the show. He said, 'No. But we might play Napster Of Puppets.' They never did play either song, but that was cool. At the Alternative Press booth, they had little cards with a photo of the Green Day issue on the front and on the back, with tour dates, but unfortunately they had posted the old Texas dates. I also got some very sweet backstage photos of the guys. They went on at about 6:45 PM, and opened the show with Welcome to Paradise. They then smashed into Hitchin' A Ride, where Billie Joe yelled out to the crowd, 'What's up Minnea-Minnea-Minnea-Minnea-Minneapolis!?' They finished the song and then he announced, 'Oh, I'm drunk!' Mike responded with, 'I think that makes three of us.' Mike also was wondering where the 5-foot penis that the band threw into the pit to start the show had wandered off to. They then played Geek Stink Breath and Longview, and then hit Brain Stew and Jaded. They then broke into their old school cover of Operation Ivy's Knowledge, where they called upon a 15-year-old dude to assist in guitaring, while Billie Joe concentrated completely on his vocals and stage antics. After the guitarist did a stage dive off the second stage of the Vans Warped tour, they went into Basket Case, and ended the show with When I Come Around. Tre then, without thinking twice, jumped through his set of drums, smashing the piss out of them, and then poured lighter fluid all over. The set went up in flames, and anyone who missed out missed one hell of a show."
"Ah, the smell of sweat, smoke, and food... All part of the Vans Warped Tour I went to in Minneapolis this afternoon. Oh, the things I put up with for Green Day. The whole day was basically buying souvenirs and watching skaters and bikers do awesome stunts. I got a black Green Day tank top with red letters. Me and my friend Hillary were waiting for Green Day in the crowd. She held me up on her shoulders so I could see. The other band was taking forever to finish. And then ... GREEN DAY! They ran up to the stage and everyone screemed. Especially me at the top of my lungs, being it the first time I had seen my heroes! I was in shock. Up on Hillary's shoulders, I was in clear veiw and as Billie looked around at the crowd, I was sure he saw me! At least for a second! Then I took a picture. They started playing Welcome to Paradise, and at that moment, I was ripped off Hillary's shoulders and hurled to the ground as everyone was moshing like MAD! I was being thrown and kicked and beaten, but it was sure fun! When I realized I couldn't breathe and huge guys were landing on top of me, I knew I had to get out. So I went back further where I took some more pictures. I lost Hillary, but after the concert, I found her. After I got out, my hair was messy, I lost my spikey bracelet which I loved, my foot was a bloody mess from being crushed, I was limping, and got a little bruised. God, was it ever worth it! Billie Joe had a 15-year-old boy come up to play Knowledge with him! It was the sweetest thing when they hugged on stage! I was jealous, but I know I can't play guitar very well. This other poor kid was in a stretcher after the thing. Billie Joe goes, 'Minneapol-apol-apol-apolis! Damnit, St. Paul is here too.' Yeah, that's why they call it the Twin Cities."
