Show notes

Reed: "This show was almost as good as the last. We got to the House Of Blues at 12 AM and waited for a long time. Security guards kept getting pissed, because we were back there where the buses were, but then they gave up and just started laughing at us, because we were blowing bubbles and trying to get them to float backstage. We sat around for 6 hours and ran into Erin from the first show and these two guys from Myrtle Beach. We got to go inside. Being the nice people that we were we let little Erin in first and then we all met up at the front of the stage. We saw some of the people from the Charlotte show and hung with them. The opening band - Samiam, was great, reminded me a lot of Descendents and Rancid. The crowd wasn't bad during their set and we didn't even sweat - the place had air conditioning. Then Samiam's drummer gave me his drumstick. It was so cool! House Of Blues has a lot of security and they were all up on us! The guard in front of me was like 6'5" feet tall, so I had a lovely crotch shot the whole night. And he had a had habit of messing with himself and scratching all the time! Green Day started with Nice Guys Finish Last and then they played Hitchin' A Ride. Josh and other guys from the Charlotte show held up signs saying 'Please play 'J.A.R.'' Billie looked at them and asked, 'You want to hear J.A.R.?' I think that was the first time they have played that live at a show. And then they played Geek Stink Breath, 2,000 Light Years Away, Longview and Welcome to Paradise. During Brain Stew and Jaded crowd went wild! Billie called for this chick to play and she didn't knew how to. I suppose she just wanted a kiss from Billie. Eventually, that guy we knew from the first show, Kip, got up there and did a good job. He dove out into the crowd and Billie claimed Blue once again to play Basket Case. Mike came over and stuck his foot out at us and I grabbed it. Tried to steal his shoe but he was too fast for me. Wonder what I could have ransomed that off for? He gave Erin a pick and Chris traded her one for one of his. Billie goofed off and played some heavy metal. Then it was Redundant, Scattered and band left the stage. Billie came back for encore with a suit on. They did Platypus by everyone's request. Halfway through King For A Day he got up on the amp and danced around behind the guard's head with the stiffy and started to undress. I almost died. Cute bikini undies! And I'll just say that the guard wasn't the only one with that, um, problem. But Billie didn't scratch his! It was great. Tre and Mike went crazy and broke everything on stage they could get their hands on. Including the stack of amps, Mike's bass and drumkit. Then Billie came to play Good Riddance which rocked. He looked like he was gonna bawl through the whole song. Maybe he missed Adrienne? And to top it all off, I got Tre to sign my picutes from the last show. Billie spat all over me. It was the bomb!"
