Show notes
Mike Alden: "I arrived to the venue about four hours early just to hang out. They wouldn't let anyone in and I didn't have tickets so I was forced to sit in the cold with my two friends. I wasn't sure how I was going to get in so I just waited with my friends for an opportunity to sneak in. When my friends and I first arrived, Tre and Mike were out in back signing autographs and answering questions. I just stood in awe until they finally went in. About an hour later Green Day and D Generation had their soundchecks. Green Day played The Grouch and Brat. At about 8:30 everyone had gone inside and me and my friends were stuck standing outside. We sat around and listened to D Generation for a while and then I noticed Tre going out to the bus. So we ran over to that area but no one was there. After a few minutes of waiting Mike came out and asked why we weren't inside. We told him that we didn't have any tickets and he just told us to wait as he ran inside the bus. He finally came back out and gave us tickets to get in. Then we ran inside and got ready for the concert. Whip It came on. Billie Joe struck a chord and then they began playing Going To Pasalacqua. During the show Billie sang The Beautiful People over the opening of Longview, taunted the crowed with an Elmo doll, let a kid come onstage to finish Knowledge (then made him stagedive off), cussed about how screwed up everything was for a minute, made the crowed yell 'fuck you' to the second level and made the second level yell 'you suck' to us then made us all yell 'fuck off' to them, he put on a whole bunch of clothes that people from the audience threw onstage and acted retarded. He pleasured his water bottle. Someone handed Billie a pipe and he took a hit but first asked if it was laced with anything. The person said no. So Billie and Mike started complaining about how they want the hard stuff like speed. And at the end he played this really annoying chord for about ten minutes as Tre and Mike destroyed the set then he ran on played Good Riddance and the show was over."
