Show notes

Steve Koepke: "Jul. 5, Tue. Green Day at Slim's a/a. $15 9 PM"

Gil Warguez: "Taken outside Slim's in San Francisco after the Green Day show. Billie Joe and Adrienne had just gotten married a couple days before. I don't remember the name of the girl on the right. I do recall that she was in a band."

Green Day Rising: "Slim's in San Francisco was actually a pretty good gig for the band normally, but on this night (July 5, 1994) I think most of the 500 people in the audience knew this was a bittersweet goodbye. Dookie was getting good airplay and the summer ahead was going to be huge with 20 Lollapalooza dates and Woodstock 94. Billie Joe was just on fire that night. He had just gotten married, found out that he was gonna be a dad, but didn't skip a beat. I'd never speak for him, but I think he knew Rock was the path forward and there was no looking back."

@br16ade_r055e: "I obtained these autographs on July 5th, 1994 outside Slim’s in San Francisco before Green Day’s concert there that night. I believe it was before the band’s soundcheck since I recall that it was still daylight. Billie signed the back of the booklet (on his solo photo) and the disc itself with a black Sharpie pen. Note that he signed the booklet and disc 'Billie' instead of 'Billie Joe.' A guy (friend/roadie?) with Billie asked me if I wanted him to sign the booklet, too. I said sure. He signed (signature looks like 'Rich') the back, on the photo of Billie, Mike & Tré. I was in the front row during the show. After the show, I took a photo of Billie holding hands with his wife Adrienne outside Slim's as he was approached by a fan. Billie and Adrienne were newlyweds. They had just gotten married on July 2nd."
