Show notes
skatemusic: "Memories. I was sitting on the stage. My home away from home. God, was it really that long ago?"
vagordy: "Seem to remember a little trash-talking about Sacramento at this show. And a little warning out back afterwards. Green Day didn't play Sacramento for many years after this."
sdf19752: "All I really remember is that they played Dominated Love Slave, When I Come Around, Paper Lanterns, Burnout, the songs in this video (obviously), I seem to remember All By Myself and obviously Longview. There were more, but I was 18. It was basically 20 years ago, so cut me some slack. It was Tilt who stole the show."
spicoli916: "The exact date was February 15th, 1994. It was the first show of the Dookie tour. I still have my ticket stub. I took photos of the show and my friend shot the video standing next to me on stage. The set was basicaly comprised of the first four songs off Dookie, and after that they mixed it up with songs from Kerplunk! and 39/Smooth with some of the earlier 7" stuff and a little bits of Eye Of The Tiger and Rock You Like A Hurricane. I actually do have the original copy of the video that my friend shot."
"I’ll tell you what I do remember well. While waiting in line the owner of the monkey in the Longview video was out there. He was on a little leash and he ran right up my leg. I remember the guy telling me the monkey was in the Green Day video. 'They have a video on MTV!?!' I don't think it had been released yet, not sure, I hadn't seen it. I also remember I was wearing a blue jacket and one of the girls I was there with talked to Cinder Block for a while. I remember being able to sit up against the stage during the Tilt show. It all turns into such a blur. I would have to guess they played 2,000 Light Years Away, Welcome to Paradise and since it was Dookie tour I am sure they played Longview and Chump. I am 99% sure Tre did Dominated Love Slave. I went to a lot of Green Day shows during that era and he seemed to do it at every one."
