Pinole News: Three young people, all local music students, took first place trophies in a talent show sponsored by the Albany Exchange Club. Each has the chance to compete again for a chance to perform at the MGM Hotel in Reno for a $300 prize.
Singer Billie Joe Armstrong of Rodeo won in the 6-9 year old group, singing an Al Jolson medley. Classical pianist Sean Keegan won top honors in the junior division and singer Denise Anderson won first place in the senior division.
The three are coached by Marie-Louise Fiatarone, instructor at the Fiat Music Company in Pinole. Armstrong is in the third grade at Rodeo's Hillcrest Elementary, Keegan is a ninth grader at Benicia High School and Miss Anderson is a junior at Pinole Valley High School. The talent show was held last month.
