Show notes

The Independent: Curly-haired Billie Joe Armstrong, a five-year-old singer from Rodeo who may take over where Shirley Temple left off, has his first record out and is billed for Walnut Creek's upcoming Walnut Festival.

Billie Joe's agent, James J. Fiatarone, has just received the first copies of the miniature songster's "Look for Love" on a 45 rpm single and has them-available at his Fiat music store in Pinole. He issued the song, his own composition, on the Fiat label and says he's now trying to persuade a Hollywood distributor to send the discs out nationally.

Billie Joe hasn't been sitting around, either. His parents proudly report that he has been invited to put on a 20-minute show at 1 p.m., Sept. 17, at the Walnut Festival to be held in the city's civic park. near Broadway.
